Well-Being
4-8 May 2020
Welcome to Week 7!
Here are some resources that you may find useful now, or in the future. These include the first Virtual Wellbeing Festival, identifying emotions , understanding how the brain works and some more ideas for relaxation. There is also a list of useful helplines should you need them.
Class teachers will be adding daily well-being activities in their blogs – here is the link for this week’s suggestions.
Virtual Wellbeing Festival – 8-10 May
This is a FREE Virtual Festival offering talks, workshops, health and fitness ideas, support for mental health, finances and home schooling. Have a look at the website for more details and to register.

Emotions
Sometimes it’s hard to identify how we are feeling, particularly at the moment when all emotions seem to be magnified – more ‘ups and downs’. Naming feelings can help deal with the emotion. Here are a couple of resources that could practically help your children and you.
Emotion Wheel
This resource will help children to identify some of the feelings that they have during this time.
Emotions check-in
This is more suitable for older children and has a greater range of emotional vocabulary.
Understanding how the brain works
It is helpful to understand what is happening in our brains, particularly at the moment. This resource explains how our brains have evolved in simple terms and what may be happening now. It offers key facts that we can share with children.
This resource from MindUp is a family support pack with downloadable information that is easy to understand.
